Jennifer and Adam were wed at Pen Ryn not long ago.  The day was perfect.  In this image our bride and groom are together for the first time on their wedding day.  I was moving slowly out of the room to afford the couple some privacy, but also aware that I needed to photograph the moment.  I love the simplicity here, the key elements in the photograph are, obviously, Adam and Jennifer.   We have everything we need, and the story is told in the expression on Adam’s face as he shares a private moment with his bride before the day begins in earnest.

I tell your story through photographs I make on your wedding day.  I do this by paying attention to what is happening around me, because what is happening around me is your wedding day. I made this image the day Sarah married Max.  Sarah and her father were discussing the timeline of the reception and a toast he would give.  For me this is prime story time.  The father of the bride engaged in discussion with his daughter the day of the wedding.  Think of all that came before this moment and all that will come after.   This is the stuff of life. No posing, no interfering. Organic free range wedding photography.

Zoe and Chris met while studying in Romania. They fell in love, of course, and wanted to get married. Zoe is a British citizen and soon found out that in order to marry the love of her life she would have to wade through a pile of paperwork. After navigating the seemingly endless road through the immigration process, and after lots of patience and international wedding planning The Wedding Day arrived. So here’s to The Bride and Groom. And here’s to tenacity, and the will to win. More to come.

You meet somebody, maybe you get a feeling that you want to see them again, and maybe they want to see you. You stay together for awhile, you make decisions, you make plans, you meet the family. And before you know it you are just a few steps away. Margaret and Chris took those few steps on June 15th at Old St. Joseph’s Church in Philadelphia. Have a look:

The coolest part of photographing weddings is that I get to witness some big time moments in the lives of my clients.  The gown looks great, everything is coming together and the day is going to be perfect.  All of that is in evidence here in the (seemingly) simple photo of Kristen has she finishes getting dressed for her wedding.    These are the moments that are supremely important, the moments that happen between the portraits.  Unscripted, spontaneous, real life.  Every wedding is full of moments like this, moments that are so much larger because the day itself is so very special.  There really is nothing like a wedding.

Coming up from Florida for the Holiday, Keith and Laura stopped by to say hello and head out into the December day for some photographs. The day was brisk, the snow was looming, but in the end everything worked out quite nicely.

Laura prepared for her Philadelphia Wedding at The Westin located just up the street from the wedding and reception venue:  Davio’s.   So Laura walked to her wedding.
